WHY RED IS THE NEW GREEN — 18th Apr 2019

WHY RED IS THE NEW GREEN

The virtues of green tea have been much lauded over many years and contain many health benefits in terms of powerful antioxidants. These components contribute to reducing health risks such as cancer and cardiovascular disease. Indeed, most supermarkets, if not all, have green tea as part of their stock. But what is surprising is that red tea doesn’t have the same exposure. Upon visiting my favourite supermarket Aldi, I discovered that even they don’t keep red tea on its shelves.

I first came across red tea or some years ago from a mailshot I got in the post. Out of curiosity, I tasted the sample, and my first reaction was yuck.

Huge mistake!

It seems that I was mistaken in my reaction to this remarkable tea. I’d forgotten about Jack Lalanne’s famous quote about nutrition, “If man made it, don’t eat it. if it tastes nice spit it out.” My tastebuds are attuned to sweet things which aren’t always good.

But what interests me currently is rooibos’s effect on weight loss. Red tea has been benefiting many people who struggle with fluctuating weight. Over time, my weight has stabilised. However, I am looking at ways of at least maintaining or reducing my weight. As we all know, metabolism slows down over time.

Red tea or Rooibos, originally from South Africa, is equally high in antioxidants; however, is sourced from totally different substances to that of green tea. The antioxidants contained in rooibus – aspalathin and nothofagin – are relatively rare, help the control of blood glucose, reduce excessive fat production, reduce stress and prevent metabolic disorders.

It seems that red tea is a key player in reducing weight loss. Also, it helps to prevent heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s.

The fact red tea contains no caffeine is also significant for those who want to get a good night’s sleep.

It is debatable whether red tea tastes better than red tea. That’s a personal choice. But I urge you to remember Jack Lalanne’s quote.

I’ve discovered that there’s even a course on red tea detox. This Red Tea Detox programme adopts the holistic approach to weight loss and is already transforming the lives of many since its launch. So, I’ve started to drink red tea again and ignore my taste buds because I know this is already benefiting me.

So why not try this red tea detox for yourself?

You never know. When others see the results, they may turn green.

Welcome to my new Blog!

My name is Walter Clearfoster. Where did you get those names, you may ask? Long story, but they are my middle names I chose to use as a pen name. I think it works! They’re memorable at least.

I’m the author of my debut novel, Digging in the Dirt, which has received great reviews. I’m also a teacher, martial artist, cat owner and ressurgence guitar player.

I have many interests, so I thought it was time to share them with the world. I look forward to walking on this journey together!

Walter.
